THE Northeastern Infection Control Educators (NICE) BASIC COURSE

In 1990, the New Jersey State Department of Health in conjunction with the Northern New Jersey and Southern New Jersey Chapters of APIC set out to design an affordable and locally accessible course and resource materials that would prepare the new Infection Preventionist to perform their duties.  Working on this collaborative, they brought in local experts in the various aspects of infection prevention to help develop program content and serve as faculty.

The "Basic Course" is offered twice annually, during the spring and fall, at the New Jersey Hospital Association in Princeton, New Jersey. The course attracts participants from across the United States as well as internationally.

The facilitators of this course were honored in 2010 as one of APIC's Heroes of Infection Prevention and an APIC Difference Maker in 2013.  To view the video that was shown at the APIC Conference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6fi0Lk91w4U

NJHA's Health Research and Educational Trust and Northeastern Infection Control Educators (NICE) are always excited to provide this educational series jointly. Check the NNJ APIC chapter website regularly for more information on how to register for the next course.
